Hats off to the staff that put on this race. Without question, one of the best organized, beautiful, and overall enjoyable races I've ever run. Well marked course, a couple gentle hills, ample amounts of port-a-johns, and a really great tour of Baton Rouge.
Due to over a week of intense rain, training leading up to today was poor. I wasn't expecting to be anywhere near my time last month in the BR Beach Half. I held 6:26 through the 10k mark, then purposefully dialed it back. I got a second wind around mile 11, caught two guys in front of me, and cruised in well under 7 minutes.
Next race is the River City Classic (10k) in Natchez, MS on 23 February.
